Moving between countries as different as India and the US, brings home the need for balance in an uneven world. I value travel and the perspective it brings, and often use allegory to address issues relating to the landscape of life and our interaction with the planet. In recent years, my work has become experiential; the immersion allows one to question the expected and enter an alternate space.
The dramatic landscape and wide skies of my home in New Mexico is a source of constant awe. The Native American's belief that 'we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children' strikes a deep resonance within me. I hope that art’s ability to breach boundaries may yet make a difference, and pave the way for a deeper communication.
